Tony, here is my suggestion: A double-dose of Berrigan, I'd say The Sonnets and Train Ride, but what the hell might as well just go with the Collected. Pepsi. Speed. Think summer 2005.
I'm with you here. I go in and out of my love of reading poetry as well as my love of writing poetry. I mean what is the thing the umph that inspires the unique individuals we are....here are a couple of poems that always make me wake up however it usually takes someone I've never read before to get me writing again:
The Chinese Notebook--Ron Silliman---BOINNGG!
Li Young Lee--The Cleaving--mouthwatering
Anne Carson's "The Glass Essay" long but sad and reminds me of all my love affairs
Engines--RAe Armantrout & Ron Silliman--prosily insane
I have many other choices but you might get bored and go to sleep before then. Hope this helps. Sheila
